Terms and Conditions

Enrollment Agreement

Exclusive Instruction

Students may not arrange private or additional lessons directly with any School of IT lecturer outside the official course structure, without prior written consent from School of IT. Doing so without consent may result in immediate termination of enrolment without refund.

Enrolling in any course with The School of IT International (Pty) Ltd creates a legally binding agreement under South African common law. By registering, you agree to meet all conditions of enrolment — including punctual payment — in exchange for the educational services provided by the institution.

Course Delivery

Lecturer Assignment

Students may be assigned up to five (5) different qualified lecturers over the course of their studies, depending on scheduling, subject specialisation, and operational requirements.

Online Instruction

All courses are delivered as online distance learning via remote instruction platforms (MS Teams / Google Meet). School of IT operates fully online with no physical venues.

Course Commitment

Minimum Study Hours

Students must complete a minimum of 20 contact hours per calendar month from their course commencement date, in line with the total duration specified for their enrolled course. Progress must be maintained continuously, without unauthorised extended breaks between scheduled sessions.

Rescheduling Policy

Lessons must be rescheduled at least five (5) hours before the scheduled session time. Sessions not rescheduled within this window are counted as attended and will not be rescheduled without additional fees.

Class Attendance Policy

Each student is the sole participant permitted in their scheduled one-on-one lessons. No third party — including friends, colleagues, or family members — may attend or observe a session without express written permission from School of IT management.

Payment Terms

Instalment Payment Structure

For courses paid in instalments (typically per 20-hour interval, or as stated in the course brochure), payment for the next instalment is due within three (3) working days of completing the prior interval. Late payment may result in interest charges and liability for the full remaining course fee — this obligation is non-negotiable and legally binding.

Important Payment Notice

All payment schedules are contractually binding. Late payments may incur administrative fees and interest as permitted by law. Continued access to course materials and instruction is contingent on maintaining current payment status.

Enrollment Contract and Refund Policy

Non-Refundable Policy

Changes in personal circumstances are not the responsibility of School of IT and do not constitute grounds for contract cancellation or a tuition refund.

Cancellation After Commencement

Any course cancelled after registration and payment of the full fee (or first instalment) is ineligible for a refund once the course has officially commenced. Once instruction has begun, all payments made are final.

Certifications and Examinations

Certificate of Completion

Students receive a School of IT certificate of completion upon successfully finishing their course. This certificate confirms participation and completion of course requirements — it is separate from any international certification exam.

International Exam Pricing

Quoted exam fees cover exam booking on the student's behalf, administrative processing, and complimentary practice materials. These fees are separate from School of IT's course fees and do not reflect the certification vendor's own retail exam price. Exams may be written via online proctoring or at approved testing centres worldwide, and require the student's personal credentials to be shared with School of IT for booking purposes.

Exam Booking Validity Period

Where a course includes or offers an international certification exam, that exam must be booked and written within 5 (five) months of course completion. Course completion is defined as the date of the student's final scheduled session, or the date their contracted hours are exhausted — whichever occurs first.

Should the exam not be booked and written within this period, the exam booking is automatically forfeited. A forfeited exam booking is:

  • Non-refundable — no portion of the exam fee is refunded
  • Non-transferable — it cannot be passed to another student or course
  • Non-creditable — no credit is applied toward any other course or exam

Students are responsible for booking their exam within this window. School of IT will assist with booking and admin on request, but the 5-month deadline remains the student's responsibility to meet.

Curriculum Modifications

Course syllabi and curriculum content may be modified at the discretion of the assigned lecturer, to accommodate individual learning pace, industry developments, and teaching best practice.

Software and Subscriptions

Certain software applications and platforms are not included in course fees or courseware. This includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Azure subscriptions, AutoDesk AutoCAD licences, Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions, and other third-party licensed software requiring separate purchase. Students are responsible for acquiring any necessary software licences independently.

Intellectual Property Protection

Course materials, lecture notes, and all proprietary educational content remain the property of School of IT and may not be sold, loaned, copied, reproduced, or distributed outside of the student's personal study for their enrolled course. Unauthorised distribution is a violation of intellectual property rights and may result in legal action.

Employment Assistance Disclaimer

School of IT does not guarantee employment or job placement. While career guidance and job placement assistance are provided, securing employment remains the responsibility of the student.

By completing your registration and remitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.
