Is CASP+ the same as SecurityX?
Yes. CompTIA rebranded CASP+ to SecurityX in December 2024. The old CASP+ certification (exam CAS-004) was fully retired in June 2025 and can no longer be earned โ SecurityX (exam CAS-005) is the current, only path to this credential. If you already hold CASP+, your certification remains valid; you do not need to retake anything.
Do I need CASP+ experience to study SecurityX?
No prior CASP+ experience is required. However, CompTIA Security+, Network+ and A+ (or equivalent hands-on experience) are strongly recommended, since SecurityX is an advanced-level certification that builds directly on those foundations.
How much does the CompTIA SecurityX course cost in South Africa?
The School of IT SecurityX course is R16,900 for 20 hours of live 1-on-1 training. The optional international exam add-on is R12,000, which is a full-service fee covering exam booking, admin and past exam papers โ not CompTIA's retail exam price.
Is SecurityX harder than Security+?
